Chelsea saves the essential

Totally upside down in the Premier League since the end of year holidays, Chelsea continued their series without a win (two defeats, three draws) this Tuesday, but saved the essential by snatching a draw against Bournemouth (2-2 ). As so often this season, the Blues made the difference with their genius Cole Palmer (14 goals and 6 assists in the Premier League). After a dead-leaf shot which barely missed the target (10th), the English international opened the scoring by winning his duel with Mark Travers following a nice fake shot from the left (13th).

A decisive passer in the action, resisting Illya Zabarnyi, the Senegalese Nicolas Jackson had several opportunities to make the break, but he found the post (37th) – a few seconds after that of Bournemouth signed Justin Kluivert – then stumbled on Cross to the reception of a wonderful center from Palmer (44th). Quite feverish in his technical zone, Enzo Maresca sensed the trap coming and Bournemouth equalized upon returning from the locker room on a penalty from Kluivert, who came to sanction a clumsy tackle by Moises Caicedo on Antoine Semenyo (50th).

Jackson stumbled again on Travers (58th) and Bournemouth, unleashed, took the advantage. Semenyo resisted Josh Acheampong before sending a heavy strike into Robert Sanchez's goal (68th). On the verge of crisis, Chelsea saved the essential thanks to a very nice free kick from Reece James (90th + 2) and maintains its fourth place, two points ahead of Manchester City.
