It will be particularly cold during the night from Monday to Tuesday, particularly in the Ardennes where the mercury will drop to -15°C.
Large sunny spells will often be widespread on Monday. In places, the weather will be grayer with low clouds or freezing fog. The maxima will be between -1 to +4°C, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) Monday morning.
Frosts will be widespread with an associated risk of patches of frost or ice. In several regions, the clearings will be wide. Locally, however, the IRM forecasts low clouds or freezing fog which could be persistent.
The maxima will remain close to 0°C where the gray weather will persist. Elsewhere, temperatures will range between +1 and +4°C. The wind will be weak and variable or from the east. In the far west, it will blow more from the south.
This evening
The night from Monday to Tuesday will be very cold with widespread and quite severe frosts. There will be broad clearings locally while elsewhere, low clouds and freezing fog will form. A high altitude veil will also reach our country from the northwest. The minimums will oscillate between -2 degrees at sea, -4 to -7 degrees in the center of the country and locally -15 degrees in the Ardennes. The wind will be weak, moderate at sea, of variable direction or from south-southwest.
-Visibility will be reduced with freezing fog in places. As for slippery conditions, it is mainly the secondary roads, sidewalks and cycle paths that will be dangerous, with the snow making, patches of ice will certainly form.
Tomorrow
After a cold night with widespread frosts and localized banks of freezing fog, there will first be sunny spells. During the day, cloudiness will increase from the north, but the weather will remain dry. In the south of the country, the weather will be sunny for a good part of the day. The maxima will be between 0 and +5 degrees with a weak wind of variable direction or from the southwest. At sea, a moderate southwest wind will blow.
The good news is that a completely dry week awaits us.
