The new geophysical measurement campaign linked to the deep geothermal project in Haute-Sorne is ready to be launched. The developer Géo-Energie Jura communicated the details on Monday. From Tuesday, two vibrating trucks will cover an area of 30 km2 around the drilling, especially on the public roads of the villages of Bassecourt, Glovelier and Boécourt. The operation will last approximately two weeks during the day between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. The objective is to refine the results obtained during the previous phases in order to improve knowledge of Jura geology.
According to Géo-Energie Jura, noise pollution will be limited to the passage of vehicles and vibrations will respect the standards in force. There will be no impact on buildings, roads or pipes, although local residents have already been warned. The 3D reflection seismic that will be used will provide an additional level of detail. This non-invasive method works on the same principle as medical ultrasound. The subsoil will thus reflect these waves in different ways depending on the nature and structure of the rock. Geophones placed at regular intervals then capture the returned signals on the surface and record the data which will allow geologists to derive a three-dimensional image of the subsurface.
Next, stimulation tests will be carried out in March or April in the exploration drilling carried out last summer. /comm-emu
