The start of the rehabilitation work at Hydro-Québec’s La Trenche power station should be carried out at the start of the week.

Already, the publication of a call for tenders for construction trailers at La Trenche was made last fall.

According to -, instead of $800 million, work worth $1.250 billion would be announced by the state corporation. The six generator turbine groups will be replaced and it is estimated that 200 workers will be on site. Preparatory work would begin shortly. Hydro-Québec will thus be able to increase the capacity of the power station by 15%. This is one of the most expensive projects for Hydro-Québec carried out in Mauricie.
