A big blow: this is what certain customers of a gas station in Jayat in Ain suffered, in the literal sense of the term. The diesel ended up in the unleaded gasoline tank. Broken down cars, obligatory and expensive trip to the garage. Affected customers are angry.

At the start of 2025, in the Jayat sector in Ain, around fifty motorists who came to fill up with super at this gas station near the supermarket left with diesel in the tank.
An internal investigation is underway. The supermarket concerned simply advises opening a claim file with your insurance company and then sending them a repair estimate.
But some can’t wait. They incur costs to have their car oiled. “It stopped completely and there was a big cloud of smoke! She smoked in all directions then nothing more” explains Patrick Dresin, victim of this bad pump. Leaning over the car’s engine, his mechanic sucks up the diesel which has invaded all the engine compartments.
There is no possible doubt that the cause of this reversal was human error when loading the fuel or during delivery.
In the meantime, the parking space for this other victim’s vehicle remains empty. Christian Venet’s hybrid car is still at the garage. He wonders how long this will last, and above all how much this story will cost. “There may be a solution but right now we don’t know if the battery needs to be changed. But a battery costs 4000 euros. It cannot be recharged. Anyone who had the problem, there’s nothing we can do at all. We met, some can no longer go to work because they no longer have a car. Not all mechanics have a vehicle to lend.“
