Building a career in engineering…

Rhône FM Chronicle of January 8, 2025

Cyrille Bezençon, head of the Industrial Systems sector at the Haute École d’Ingénierie (HEI), was the guest of the column to discuss the possibility of building a career in engineering through apprenticeship.

The role of the engineer is fundamental in Valais, where employment prospects are particularly favorable. Currently, the HEI trains around 100 graduates each year, while 195 technical positions are to be filled in the canton. The need for new skills is enormous, particularly in areas such as industrial digitalization, the development of artificial intelligence and the energy transition.

It is entirely possible to become an engineer by starting with technical training, such as obtaining a CFC, then continuing with a HES Bachelor. This training remains focused on practice while providing solid theoretical knowledge. It can also be taken during employment, thus making it possible to combine work and studies.

A information session on these opportunities will take place on Wednesday January 15 at 7:00 p.m.on the Energypolis campus. An ideal opportunity to learn more and consider a career as an engineer in a region full of promise!
