Prestige squared. If the transaction, carried out by the Magrey & Sons agency, was recorded last April, it was recently made public by the Bloomberg agency: the luxury group LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) acquired the Bagatelle villa for modest sum of 46.5 million euros (excluding furniture and costs).
A purchase which confirms the group’s real estate “frenzy” (2.45 billion euros of acquisitions around the world in 2023) and adds to its prestigious list of addresses (Champs-Élysées, rue de la Paix , avenue Montaigne in Paris…).
Exhibitions and receptions during major festivals
Built in 1928 in California and offering an idyllic view of the city and the Mediterranean, it extends, in an Art Deco style, over nearly 3,000 m² of living space, with its twelve rooms (which can accommodate up to 18 members of staff). ), its three swimming pools, its spa and its terraced gardens. The group – which did not wish to comment on this acquisition – should organize exhibitions and exclusive events there for its companies (Vuitton, Dior, Moët & Chandon, etc.).
Particularly during major Cannes events, the Film Festival and Cannes Lions in the lead. Furthermore, LVMH plans to rent the Villa Bagatelle during the summer season to (very) wealthy vacationers.
A villa which, over the decades, has seen a succession of wealthy owners (and sometimes with a murky profile), such as the oligarch Sarkisov brothers, the banker Anatoly Motylev or the businessman Rafik Khalifa.
