The new Renault Rafale 2025 undergoes the Euro NCAP crash test

The Renault Rafale is attracting keen interest from customers. The reasons? A very attractive design, the presence of hybrid engines (Eco label) and PHEV (vignette 0), significant technological content and very efficient dynamic performance.

If we add a competitive price for this segment (with offers on 300 hp 4×4 PHEVs), it has all the ingredients to make a place for itself on the market… and reserve a few surprises. And be careful, it doesn't just compete with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio or the Mazda CX-60.

The Rombo coupe SUV, built in Spain, is no slouch against premium competitors either. Here we find the Audi Q5 2025, the BMW X3 2025, the Mercedes-Benz GLC (discover the basic gasoline and diesel versions) or the Volvo XC60 (without diesel and on offer).

To achieve its objective, the new Renault Rafale must demonstrate a considerable level of safety. Will he succeed? Motor1.com presents the results of the demanding Euro NCAP crash tests.

During the frontal impact, the passenger compartment remained perfectly intact, providing good protection for the legs and femurs, although the driver's torso obtained a marginal rating; This rating is recorded for the rear passenger's torso when testing across the full width of the vehicle.

All other critical body areas were rated as good or adequate for both the first and second row of seats. In the conventional side test, all areas evaluated achieved maximum protection.

In the event of a collision with a pole, torso safety is considered marginal and good for the pelvis and head. This SUV is equipped as standard with a central airbag which prevents contact between the front occupants. Additionally, the head restraints demonstrated optimal performance.

Overall, the new Renault Rafale 2025 achieved 87% protection for adults, 83% for children, 69% for pedestrians and 87% for driving assistants. It therefore wins five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests… and puts even more pressure on its competitors.
