“We must organize a counter-summit of artificial intelligence [IA]against the speeches which promise us wonders with AI. » The philosopher Eric Sadin thus summarizes his project to set up an alternative demonstration at the International Summit for Action on AI organized by the French executive in , on February 10 and 11, 2025. This “counter-summit” should take place on February 10, at the Paris Labor Exchange or elsewhere.

“The idea is to invite different corporations and professions already affected by AI so that people can talk about the daily consequences and testify”explains the very critical philosopher of digital technology and author in particular of Spectral Life. Thinking about the era of the metaverse and generative AI (Grasset, 2023) or Artificial Intelligence or the Challenge of the Century. Anatomy of radical antihumanism (L’Echappée, 2018).

The approach is notably supported by the National Union of Journalists, which will provide logistical support, its network and its experience, explains Eric Barbier, member of the office and employee of The Republican Eastfaced, since the end of 2023, with the “first AI experiment in production in the regional daily press”.
