It's an error that has embarrassed some drivers. Several motorists broke down a few minutes after filling up with fuel at a service station in Leclerc, in Loroux-Bottereau (Loire-Atlantique), on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 17.
Several of them shared their bad experience on the networks, as reported by Hebdo de Sèvre & Maine. One says that her brother's vehicle “broke down 3 km after” having used fuel, while another had to stop only a few kilometers after leaving the station. Similar case for Stéphane who suffered the same fate “ten minutes later”.
The cause: an inversion in the distribution of fuel in the tanks. People who wanted to use diesel came out with SP95 E10 gasoline in the tank, and those who wanted gasoline with diesel. “During its delivery of fuel, the carrier accidentally reversed the diesel and SP95 E10 in the tanks, causing breakdowns on several of our customers' vehicles,” the after-sales service told the local media, which “deplores this incident “.
“The delivery started at 1:20 p.m. and lasted almost an hour. Distribution was cut off at 3:30 p.m. upon receipt of the first calls,” explains the after-sales service, specifying that “all customers who have suffered damage will of course be taken care of” and that files are “ already under investigation with our customer service.
Although we do not know how many vehicles were affected, the management of Petro Ouest E. Leclerc mentions “several vehicles”. For those who encountered problems when refueling before Tuesday, December 17, “no incident was noted”, specifies the after-sales service, as did those who used the SP 98. After pumping both tanks, the station was able to be fully put back into service on Thursday morning.
