National Crafts Agency: desired reforms to align the structure with modernism

The ANA Management Committee was chaired by its Chairman of the Board of Directors, Florent Balandamio. It is the second of its kind after the one organized in 2000, 24 years later.

Seven points were on the agenda for this technical meeting. These included, among other things, the examination of the 2022 and 2023 budgets; the presentation of summary reports of activities carried out in 2024; the draft agreement for the establishment of the ANA and the draft deliberation for the change of the logo of this structure.

After examining all these points, the participants adopted three deliberations with the aim of relaunching the ANA on the facts baptismal. This includes updating the legal and regulatory framework; to draft a strategic development plan and provide the structure with infrastructure to promote artisanal activities.

Speaking to this effect, the Director General of the ANA, Mireille Opa, announced the implementation of some ambitious reforms intended to enable this strategic structure to fully play its role in the economic development of the Congo. “ This morning’s session allowed us to take stock of the functioning of the ANA from 2020 to 2024. We also discussed the obsolescence of the regulatory texts of our agency, which date from 1986, i.e. 38 years in use. The steering committee therefore noted the need to adapt these texts to modernism. To do this, we will organize, at the end of March 2025, another steering committee to review our regulatory texts, in particular the statutes and the internal regulations. », Specified Mireille Opa Elion.
