Thousands of packages were delayed in the carrier's logistics chain after a five-day social unrest.

An agreement was reached between management and the unions on the evening of Friday December 13 after four days of strike, but thousands of packages piled up during the social movement, raising fears of significant delays. Employees walked off the job between Monday and Friday to demand an incentive bonus.
Employees and managers were “mobilized [pendant la grève] in order to limit the impact for customers”indicated DHL in a press release this weekend, making it possible to still process a portion of the packages arriving on its logistics platforms. All packages that were to be delivered for Christmas will be delivered, assures Figaro Fatah Ziani, director of operations DHL Express France. “100% of the teams are focused on delivering to our customers”he assures, estimating that “one day maximum” the possible delay in delivery of a package until the situation returns to normal.
“There were some delays in pickups and deliveries”recognizes Fatah Ziani, but the situation “is being absorbed thanks to a special operation carried out last Saturday in order to deliver to our individual customers”. Less than 10% of the volume of packages processed are on hold, assures the carrier, which aims to “0 packages waiting very quickly”.
