It all started with a simple post on social media. On this one, an Internet user nicknamed herself the “mother of Paris” explains having “ previewed line 15 of the Paris metro” accompanied by several photos, including the route of the line.
Part of line 15 should open in 2026
A publication viewed three million times in two days which sparked strong, very positive reactions. “Incredible”, “revolutionary” or “this line will make us happy” are among the thousands of visible comments. Others say they are looking forward to the opening of the line which should “relieve the RER”.
Others even have discovered the existence of this future line which was initially scheduled to open – for its southern portion – at the end of 2025. But given the delay on the site, the southern section will not open until the summer of 2026. Line 15 is divided into three portions (east, west and south) and should cross Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne.
Line 15 is one of thefour new metro lines which constitute the Grand Paris Express. A large-scale project whose ambition is simple: to allow residents of the Ile-de-France region to travel from suburb to suburb without going through Paris.
To discover these new lines, like this Internet user, simply go to Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine to discover the “La Fabrique du métro” exhibition.
