(Keystone-ATS) The only way out is to sit down as quickly as possible at the negotiating table with the unions, declared Mr. Imhof in an interview broadcast on Saturday by the German-speaking newspapers of the Tamedia press group.
“I don’t mean by this that we should accept without thinking every one of their demands,” he warns. But the collective labor agreement (CCT) ensures stability in the sector, he notes. “If we don’t negotiate anything, we can’t improve anything.” He notes that the current situation is bad for the image of the sector.
HotellerieSuisse favorable
HotellerieSuisse, which is one of the contractual partners of the CCT, wants to renegotiate it “in order to offer employees additional attractiveness”, declared its president Martin von Moos in January. He criticized the fact that GastroSuisse did not want to enter into negotiations.
The latter decided five years ago to suspend negotiations for a new CCT. The former president of the hotel and catering federation, Casimir Platzer, declared in January that discussions were suspended “until the unions stop crushing important points of the CCT with legal provisions” .
He was referring, according to Stefan Unternährer, who led the negotiations for workers’ organizations, to the. participation of the Unia and Syna unions in collecting signatures in two cantons for initiatives on a minimum wage.
