Going on vacation to Greece, a family had the unpleasant surprise of realizing that the hotel which was to accommodate them was full. However, they had booked their vacation a year in advance with Easyjet Holidays, reported the BBC until November.
The nine members of the family, from Nantwich (United Kingdom), wanted to spend a holiday together in Kos, in the Dodecanese archipelago. In total, they paid 9,000 euros for a week in the sun in a hotel. But when they arrived there, they discovered that the establishment was… full.
“I would love to get all the money back.”
The family was spread across different hotels and had to use taxis daily to reunite. It was only four days before returning to the UK that she was reunited in the same place again. The mother quickly reported the problem to Easyjet Holidays, unhappy with the failed vacation.
“You just want to completely disconnect and relax, and we couldn't really do that,” she tells the BBC. The company offered her initial compensation of more than 400 euros, which the woman refused, believing that the damage was much greater: “I would like to recover all the money but if that is not possible, obtain half would be reasonable. »
Contacted by the BBCthe travel agents association ABTA confirmed that it had been informed of the matter. It reminds that any customer can benefit from its arbitration system if the compensation offered by a company is deemed insufficient. Currently, no agreement has yet been reached.
