A popular Canadian content subreddit has created an uproar by banning all its members from posting in French.

This is the r/EhBuddyHoser community, ironically the perfect place to make jokes about Canada.
Recently, there has been an influx of French-speaking Quebec content on the page.
One of the moderators, who didn’t seem thrilled by this new development, decided to create a new rule for the group.
“Rule #7: All posts must be made in English. A French translation can be included in the description, but the title must be in English only.”
Obviously, this new regulation was not well received by the French. But several English speakers also judged that the sub should remain for everyone and did not agree with the decision.
Several users then flooded the page with numerous publications in French denouncing the new policy. Others made complaints to Reddit, accusing the moderator of discrimination.
Ultimately, the moderator in question deleted his account and the rule was overturned.
Since then, French publications have returned to the site. But the fragile balance between the two solitudes has once again been shaken…
Oh Canada!
