Are you a customer of the Uber platform and would you prefer to be driven home by a woman rather than by a male driver? From this Thursday, November 28, this gendered choice is now possible by clicking on the “Uber by women” option, which has just appeared on the application of the American VTC giant. “It is a tool which will allow, in a very simple way, customers who wish to be put in contact exclusively with female drivers. It’s not a question of telling them that this is the only way to travel with complete peace of mind, but just of giving them the choice,” summarizes Laureline Serieys, general director of Uber France.
This new functionality ― which the number 1 VTC platform has already implemented in Poland and in several Latin American countries but curiously not in the United States ― will be usable at no additional cost for customers… but at a price of 'a wait probably a little longer than for a classic race.
