Each year, around 5.6 million households benefit from the energy check. But during the 2024 campaign for payment of this aid, many households were forgotten. To remedy this, the government announced the establishment of a complaints desk. But to make the request, it is necessary to provide certain documents.
Last spring, the 2024 energy check was paid to millions of French households. However, due to an administrative error, nearly a million households newly eligible for this scheme were forgotten about this payment campaign. With an amount ranging from 48 to 277 euros, the energy check represents crucial financial assistance for these forgotten households.
To remedy this oversight, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, announced the establishment of a complaints desk to allow these numerous households who have not received the 2024 energy check to request it.
Eligible persons who did not receive the energy check during the distribution campaign that ended on April 15 will thus be able to request it from July 4. This is, in fact, the date on which the online complaints desk will open, announced the National Energy Mediator on Thursday, June 27.
However, before submitting a request, each household must be sure of its eligibility for this system. To do this, there are several online simulators, including that of the energy check site, which are dedicated to precisely this purpose. Once eligibility is confirmed, the households concerned will be able to submit their request from July 4 (until December) via the site https://chequeenergie.gouv.fr.
For the purposes of this request, each household will need to provide several items. In detail, the interested party must mention their tax number, a valid identity document, as well as an energy bill in the name of the person requesting the energy check.
To receive the energy check as soon as possible, here is what to do
It is worth remembering that once the application is sent, the energy check is sent within the following month if it is approved. Therefore, the earlier the application is made, the more likely the beneficiary concerned is to receive this aid quickly.
To do this, it would be useful to prepare your documents in advance and to carefully check the information entered on the online complaints portal. It is also recommended to make your complaint as soon as the site opens, to avoid periods of saturation.
