He is known as the white wolf, and yet. The famous Fnac store on the Champs-Élysées will close, starting January 12, 2025. Reclassification solutions have been offered to employees.
It's done. The Fnac store located on the prestigious Avenue des Champs-Élysées will permanently close its doors on the evening of Sunday, January 12, 2025, Ouest-France reported. Opened in 1997, it is the last chapter in its history, but also that of its employees, which is closing. However, the 89 staff members will be reassigned to other stores.
The location in question
“100% of employees have been offered reclassification solutions, in Paris, Île-de-France or elsewhere, depending on their wishes,” indicates a representative of the Fnac Darty group to our colleagues in Ouest-France.
Fnac des Champs was a real institution. It was last March that the group announced its closure, saying that it was the “only economically reasonable and socially responsible decision”. In question: a “generalized increase in fixed costs”, and a drop in sales “due to a decrease in frequentation of the district by the brand's natural clientele”. But also the location: the group deplores “unfavorable” prospects on the Champs-Élysées with “the increasingly marked orientation of the avenue towards luxury retail and international customers”.
Liquidation on January 3
At the start of the year, the Champs-Élysées store had 101 employees. This figure fell to 89, taking into account “anticipated movements”.
For the moment, no information has leaked on the name of the brand which will take up residence in the soon-to-be empty building, at 74 avenue des Champs-Élysées.
Before the store closes permanently, the brand will liquidate stocks during a clearance sale, organized on January 3.
