The Association of Neuchâtel Municipalities (ACN) is concerned about the Council of State’s desire to temporarily lower the personal tax scale by 1% next year. The Grand Council will decide on this subject at the beginning of December, when it will deal with the cantonal budget. In a letter sent to the Council of State and to deputies, revealed on Saturday by ArcInfothe ACN requests that this reduction be applied to the cantonal tax point, so as not to affect the finances of the municipalities, some of which will be in deficit next year. The ACN also deplores not having been consulted before this decision and denounces an attack on municipal autonomy. Crystel Graf, PLR Minister at the head of Finance since March 1, does not hide her surprise.
