Since 2019, numerous works have been carried out at Geneva station to strengthen and develop its infrastructure. The current project aims to double the transport capacity between Lausanne and Geneva by 2030.
Interruption of rail traffic
- CFF traffic: total shutdown of rail traffic for 20 hours between Lausanne and Geneva, from Saturday November 23 at 7 p.m. until Sunday November 24 at 3 p.m.
- SNCF TER traffic: complete interruption of traffic between Geneva and Bellegarde, and reduction of offer on Léman Express, from Friday November 22 at 7:50 p.m. to Monday November 25 at 4:30 a.m.
- Services de substitution : replacement buses, coaches and trams are being put in place by the CFF. Travelers are invited to consult the CFF Mobile application or go to the CFF.ch website
Access to Geneva airport
Access to the airport is impacted by these interruptions:
- Trips from Nyon : Trains stop at Nyon and there is a direct bus connection to the airport, with a journey time of an additional 30 minutes.
- Trips from Annemasse: Léman Express travelers heading to the airport will need to change at Lancy-Pont-Rouge, then take tram line 15 to Geneva station, followed by bus line 5 to the airport. Lines 5 and 15 of the TPG are reinforced to facilitate access.
However, SBB recommends avoiding train travel from November 23 at 7 p.m. to November 24 at 3 p.m. due to anticipated disruptions.
