The return of the Builders' Love Rating barometer gives us an overview of the situation on the ground. Dealers can thus speak anonymously and “rate” their brand(s). This year, Stellantis remains poorly rated.
The 2024 barometer for French car dealerships has been released. The long satisfaction survey, conducted by Mobilians, allows us to find out if distributors are satisfied with the products they sell, and especially the brands they offer. The organization establishes this classification on scores ranging from 0 to 10 based on 30 criteria, divided into the following activities: sale of NV, activity of approved repairer, sale of spare parts, sale of VO, financing, marketing and advertising. Obviously, Mobilians excluded dealers in its own networks and agents from its investigation. In France, the agent contract still remains rare outside of part of the Mini/BMW network and Tesla, which therefore does not appear in the ranking.
Renault still well placed, Stellantis still struggling
The 2024 ranking shows changes at the head of the pack with the fall of Honda and the loss of speed of Toyota. Renault is once again very well placed, and it is also interesting to note the almost constant progression of the diamond brand's ratings since 2017, since its average had fallen to 5.17/10 before rising again and reach 6.70/10 in 2024. The very rich product plan must probably contribute to Renault's current good reputation with its dealers. Conversely, Peugeot's ratings have only declined over the years.
Sign of the Tavares method? Still, the lion brand is doing worse than 2023 and falls to an average of 4.33/10. Ranked 7th in 2019, just before the pandemic which disrupted the ratings and the possibility of collecting them, Peugeot now finds itself in 21st position. The PureTech engine affair certainly did not help to boost the returns from the field for Peugeot. Just like Citroën, moreover, which pays for Takata airbags with a score of 4.17/10, among the worst in the ranking. Only Alfa Romeo, DS and Mitsubishi do less well. And it is interesting to note that it is the foreign manufacturers who are doing the best at Stellantis (Opel, Fiat). The historic record for the lowest score is attributed to Alfa Romeo, which obtained 2.12/10 last year.
