The Agirc-Arrco scheme, which structures the supplementary pension for private sector employees, has revealed the new purchase price of the point for 2025. Find out how this update could impact your pension.
The retirement system in France is based on two pillars: official retirement and supplementary retirement. As part of Agirc-Arrco, a supplementary scheme for employees in the private sector, the calculation principle is based on points. For each year worked, contributions allow you to acquire a number of points which will then be converted into a pension amount at the time of retirement. The purchase price of these points is set each year, allowing active people to understand how many points they can obtain based on their contributions.

The Agirc-Arrco point works in a simple way: each year, the amount of contributions paid by employees and their employers is changed into retirement points. These points are then used to calculate the supplementary pension depending on the value of the point at the time of liquidation of the pension. A revaluation of pensions postponed to July 2025
For retirees, the increase in pensions, initially planned for January 2025, has been postponed until July. This measure was decided by the government to try to reduce the public deficit. At the same time, the new purchase value of the Agirc-Arrco supplementary retirement point was revealed. Since November 1, 2024, the value of the point has been set at €1.4386, compared to €1.4159 previously, marking an increase of 1.6%. Therefore, for active people, the purchase price of the Agirc-Arrco point is now set at €20.1877 for the year 2025. This amount corresponds to what you must spend if you want to obtain more points for your supplementary pension.
