In a press release, the airline Air France announced that it would suspend flights over the Red Sea “until further notice” after the detection of a “luminous object” near Sudan.
During a flight from Paris to Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, the pilot of an Air France flight observed a “luminous object” up to Sudan and has, “as a precaution”preferred to turn around. Some other flights that had also passed through the area also turned around or changed their route.
“The itinerary of some of its flights was modified. Depending on their location, some aircraft were able to turn around and return to land at their departure airport” specifies the company on X.

The company has decided to suspend flights over the area in a press release on X. Air France also specifies “permanently monitor the evolution of the geopolitical situation in the territories served and overflown by its aircraft in order to ensure the highest level of safety and flight security.”
