Marc Raisière will hand over the reins of Belfius to Olivier Onclin

What are the main changes in the Belfius Bank organization chart? Olivier Onclin, currently a member of the management committee and head of Private, Business & Retail Banking, is appointed vice-president of the management committee of Belfius Bank. “As such, he will coordinate the strategic exercise which will shape Belfius Bank by 2030. A strategy which prepares Belfius to respond ever better to changing customer habits, with the support of new technologies in particular”specifies Belfius.

Change of CFO

On January 1, 2025, Olivier Onclin – who will also become vice-president of the board of directors of Belfius Insurance – will leave his current responsibilities to take on those of Wholesale & Public Banking (which covers Corporate Banking, Public & Social Banking and Financial Markets). He will be replaced in his current position (Private, Business & Retail Banking) by Dirk Gyselinck, already a member of the management committee.

“The board of directors took a series of governance decisions to prepare the development of our new 2030 strategic plan but also my succession at the head of Belfius Bank.”

Finally, as in any self-respecting game of musical chairs, one person leaves the bank, in this case CFO Johan Vankelecom (from whom we can logically deduce that he wanted to succeed Marc Raisière): “Belfius Bank is ending the collaboration with CFO Johan Vankelecom, on good terms, as of November 1, 2024. This decision is mainly based on a divergence of views regarding the future organization”specifies the press release. Marianne Collin will succeed him as Chief Financial Officer “as soon as a new Chief Risk Officer is hired to replace her”specifies Belfius Bank.

“Belfius will stop sponsoring football”, announces its CEO Marc Raisière

“Prepare my succession”

Current CEO of Belfius Bank, Marc Raisière, is relatively clear in commenting on this reshuffle in the group’s management, “to prepare the development of our new 2030 strategic plan, but also my succession at the head of Belfius Bank”.

He is also delighted with the work carried out in recent years: “Belfius finds itself at a special moment in its history. Our Inspire 2025 strategic plan is reaching its goal. We have been able to establish our leadership as an integrated bancassurance company, active in asset management and financial markets. I think I can say that we have become essential within the Belgian economy. And the Belfius brand shines with its unique, warm and daring personality.”
