Vietnamese tech giant CMC opens office in the Republic of Korea

Technology company CMC inaugurated its representative office in the Republic of Korea on May 8 as part of its strategy to promote its global operations in the fields of automobiles, finance and banking, based on digital technologies advances.

The event was attended by representatives of 200 companies and partners of the Vietnamese company, including Samsung SDS and Kookmin Bank.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of CMC Nguyen Trung Chinh described the event as an important milestone that marks the market expansion and relentless efforts to develop technology, saying that the group not only brings technological solutions of cutting edge, but also supports digital transformation in this East Asian country.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Vu Ho congratulated CMC on the inauguration of CMC Korea which, he said, contributes to helping Vietnamese technology introduce itself to the world as well as develop relations Vietnam-Republic of Korea in a more practical way.

Along with the remarkable development of bilateral relations, IT cooperation between the two countries has progressed, helping to promote mutual understanding and exchanges between businesses of the two sides and bringing benefits to both sides.

Vice President of Samsung SDS Global Development Center Chung Ju Hong praised CMC’s technology and said he hoped to strengthen cooperation with CMC in the Republic of Korea.

As part of the event, CMC signed MoUs with several partners such as KPS Steel, RSupport and CoAsia Semi, marking a bold step in its “Go Global” strategy.

Vietnam and the Republic of Korea aim for a bilateral trade value of 150 billion USD by 2030. The Republic of Korea, one of Vietnam’s main economic partners, plans to invest 1.35 billion USD in R&D activities for new technologies that serve its digital transformation objective.

Seeing the Republic of Korea as a potential market, CMC has partnered with many companies including SK Telecom, CJ Olive Network, and GS Retail, to name a few.
