The Office of Vocational Training and Labor Promotion (OFPPT) and Lafarge Holcim Maroc signed, Thursday in Tamesna, a framework agreement relating to the development of a training offer adapted to the needs of professionals in the construction sector .

Initialed by the general director of the OFPPT, Loubna Tricha, and the Managing Director of Lafarge Holcim Morocco, José Antonio Primo, this agreement will allow professionals in the building and public works (BTP) sector to benefit from qualifying training in areas such as Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) or even formwork, while developing their skills in areas relating to construction materials and new operating methods.

In terms of continuing training, Lafarge Holcim Maroc will rely on the expertise of the OFPPT for the development of training programs dedicated to its employees and partner construction professionals.

Regarding safety at work and the promotion of construction professions, this partnership provides for the organization of training caravans and seminars dedicated to raising awareness of safety on construction sites and new application methods used in structural works and masonry sectors.

To strengthen this new collaboration, it was also agreed to train 4,000 beneficiaries (building professionals and local communities) over the next three years in building trades.

Speaking on this occasion, Ms. Tricha indicated that this strategic alliance between OFPPT and Lafarge Holcim Maroc is of particular importance in the context of digital transformation and innovation in construction in the Kingdom.

This framework agreement aims to strengthen the skills of young people by offering training programs adapted to market needs, she indicated, while promoting the development of an ecosystem conducive to professional integration.

“This public-private partnership is fully in line with our commitment to supporting professionals, through co-constructed qualifying training courses, thus making it possible to bring training closer to the realities of the labor market and this, in perfect harmony with the directions of the new road map for the development of professional training,” continued Ms. Tricha.

In this sense, she reaffirmed the OFPPT’s commitment to the training of young people, adding that this collaboration marks an important step in the realization of this commitment.

For his part, Mr. Primo expressed his satisfaction with the strengthening of the partnership between his company and the OFPPT which participates in the development of skills and the enhancement of human capital, one of the strategic priorities for Lafarge Holcim.

He also took this opportunity to emphasize the importance of training a company’s employees in order to meet future challenges.

Regarding the company’s role in Morocco’s digital transformation, Mr. Primo spoke of Lafarge Holcim’s desire to create an ecosystem conducive to skills development.
