In 2023, sales of electric vehicles jumped 25.28%, reaching 7,165 units, all categories combined. For the year 2024, more than 463 units of electrified vehicles were sold nationwide, with Dacia (146 units), Citroën (84 units) and BYD (38 units) leading sales. Premium brands are not left out, with Audi having introduced its fully electric Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback models, Mercedes having launched a complete range of 6 electric vehicles, and Kia having presented its EV6.

Interest in plug-in hybrids, particularly among luxury brand customers, is increasing, with 561 units sold in 2023 compared to 380 in 2021.

Porsche, Land Rover and Mercedes Benz dominate this segment. Full hybrid cars are also generating notable enthusiasm, with Toyota, Hyundai and Renault being the market leaders with 3,470, 1,318 and 367 units sold respectively, for a total of 6,141 units in 2023.

The automotive market now includes 24 brands and 82 models of new energy vehicles (NEVs), up from 18 brands and 71 models in 2022. The growth of hybrids has led to an increase in sales of gasoline vehicles, as well as a dynamic confirmed for vehicles with alternative engines, with an increase of 17% and a market share of 3.5%.

With an increasingly rich and competitive offer, the national market is recording an increase in vehicles with electrified motors. In 2022, 18 brands and 71 models were marketed, compared to 16 brands and 57 models in 2021. The new roadmap provides for the installation of 600 to 2,500 electrical terminals across the national territory, thus marking the path towards increased electrification of vehicles .
