THE Dalía 300-meter-long container ship, crashed into a pile of the Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore on March 26, causing it to collapse.

Six workers who were carrying out road repair work on the bridge when it was struck by the ship have been reported missing. Two others were able to be rescued.

The victim whose body was found Tuesday was identified by authorities as Jose Mynor Lopez, a 37-year-old laborer from Baltimore.

“Today, Jose Mynor Lopez, the sixth and final missing victim, was found,” Baltimore Mayor Brandon M Scott said on X.

Work to fully reopen the channel will continue “as we close the chapter on this (recovery) effort,” Scott said.

The collapse of the bridge led to the blocking of part of maritime transport in one of the busiest ports in the country.

A temporary navigation corridor was opened to allow the passage of vessels carrying out rescue and clearance operations.

The US Federal Police (FBI) and the National Transportation Safety Board have opened an investigation into the accident.
