Here we go for the third edition of the Spot! The principle of this pop-up store is to allow project leaders to test their activity while training in the art of commerce and new practices. The Spot is the result of a partnership between the City of Issoudun and the BGE Berry-Touraine association, with the aim of revitalizing commerce in the city center.

The City acquired a commercial premises of 26 m2 located on Place du Marché à l’Avoine. For two months, the keys are entrusted to people wishing to develop an activity. Candidates are selected based on their application and interviewed.

There are three of them sharing this store until November 30: Katia Dorcivac, Stéphanie Bidaud and Joachim Janvier. Everyone has their own activity. Having lived in Issoudun for five years, Katia Dorcivac lost her job as a sales assistant in a real estate diagnostics office last February. Her goal today is to turn her passion for current and vintage clothing into her professional activity. She spends a lot of time hunting and resells her finds on the Vinted application. She was seduced by the ephemeral side of the Spot where she brought together a wide selection of second-hand clothing, for men and women.

Specialized territorial agent for nursery schools (Atsem) then town hall secretary for nine and eleven years respectively, Stéphanie Bidaud, who lives in Badecon-le-Pin, wanted to change: “ I was looking for a job that suited me. » After a CAP art and glass technique option in stained glass in , she created Lum’in art. At the Spot, she presents tealight holders, lanterns and decorative pendant lights. This experience is an opportunity for her to make herself known with a view to more substantial projects in stained glass.

Another journey, that of Joachim Janvier, returned in 2021 to Châteauroux, his hometown. “ I was in sales for fifteen years. In 2020 I worked in an optical store in Orléans. I realized that I needed to have a manual activity “, he says. After some trial and error, he began recovering and transforming pallets. For the Spot, he specially created aperitif boards with the White Tower engraved or in the shape of a guitar. He dreams of one day having his own boutique workshop. His participation in the Spot is an opportunity “ to see if you like it and find partners “. To find out more, just push the door.

More than just a store, the Spot is a business incubator or, to put it another way, a springboard for people who are considering starting their own business but are still hesitant to take the plunge. This initiative, supported by Bpifrance, is part of the City Heart Action plan.

Le Spot, Place du Marché à l’Avoine, open Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
