Undeclared presence of sesame in soy drinks prepared and sold by the company La Maison de Soya

WARNING THE POPULATION

QUEBEC, May 7, 2024 /CNW/ -The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), in collaboration with the company La Maison de Soya, located at 8200, boulevard Taschereau, local1260, Brossard, advises people who suffer from a sesame allergy not to consume the products indicated in the following table. In fact, these products could contain this allergenic substance without mentioning it on the label.

The products that are the subject of this warning were offered for sale in several establishments in the Montrgie region. The products were packaged in plastic bottles. They were sold refrigerated.

The operator is recalling the products in question. It has agreed with MAPAQ to broadcast this warning as a precautionary measure. This warning only concerns people who suffer from an allergy to sesame. In addition, affected people who have one of these products in their possession are advised not to consume it. They must return it to the establishment where they purchased it or throw it away. To obtain information on allergens, more precisely on their various names and on the foods in which they can be found, it is possible to consult the Allergens and their different names page on Qubec.ca.

It should be noted that no case of allergic reaction associated with the consumption of these foods has been reported to MAPAQ to date.
