Clair Bois staff say they are overwhelmed with work

Less than a year ago, employees of the Clair Bois Foundation sounded the alarm. Exhausted, they denounced a situation of understaffing. According to a recent survey, there is still a shortage of staff today. The survey carried out by the SIT and SSP unions among field employees reveals several dysfunctions, report “Le Courrier” and the “Tribune de Genève”. Too low a supervision rate, unreplaced sick leave… Result: employees are overwhelmed with work and this generates internal tensions.

Another consequence of this overload: poorer quality services. Last November, several families pointed out this problem. One employee believes that this ultimately leads to “institutional mistreatment”. For its part, Clair Bois management indicates that it cannot respond to the substance of the survey, not having had access to the document. However, she specifies that the data in her possession demonstrates the opposite. In addition, a budget extension has been granted for recruitment and replacements and an external investigation will be carried out this summer. Asked by the unions, the State said it was ready to receive them.
