The moment of “relaxation and hassle-free” dear to Anaëlle Châtellierassociate of the EARL Châtellierwill take place again, this year in Saint-Ouen-le-Brisoult (Orne) near La Ferté-Macé.

On May 18, 2024, visitors will be able to visit the pig and cattle farm for free, eat on site, and enjoy multiple activities throughout the day.

“Several new features will be added to our usual event,” explains Anaëlle. Our farmers’ market will include for the first time Mathilde, from the Graines de Pâtes farm, located in Javron. In terms of educational activities, the Red Cross will hold an introductory stand for first aid procedures.

We will also have the opportunity to welcome the Syndrome Usher France association, to raise awareness of a little-known disease which combines deafness and vision problems, particularly in children.

100% farm meal

On the same principle proposed for two years, the local market will allow the public to buy their meal directly from producers, and then sit under barnum.

“We ultimately offer a whole meal with farm products,” says Anaëlle. It can range from pork, to duck, to beef. We will offer our beef merguez and our pork chipolatas, accompanied by potatoes cooked in foil with crème fraîche and chives.”

This garnish, as an extra off the Châtellier menu, will be made from potatoes from the Peculier farm, in Thuboeuf.

“Then cheese, honey, apple juice, wine… everyone composes their own meal. For dessert, we innovated by offering the APE of the Neuilly-le-Vendin school to sell cakes at 1€ per slice: all the profits will go to the APE which partly finances the children’s school trips. “.

The children, moreover, will not be forgotten, with “inflatable structure, makeup stand and other novelty: a hunt for gifts”.

The Club des Ducs d’Alençon will also be present with several 2CV models, and is planning a breathtaking surprise for an ever-increasing audience. “Last year, we received around 500 people during the day,” estimates Anaëlle. For the meal, places are limited to 250 people, by reservation. Around twenty volunteers will supervise this country festival which will once again highlight life on the farm, artisanal production and conviviality.
