Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II at the best price?
Compact and comfortable wireless headphones
Until recently, Bose remained discreet on the wireless earphone market but the American manufacturer was able to quickly establish itself with its range of QC Earbuds. The first generation was a real success while their current successor confirms this know-how. The QC Earbuds II are 33% more compact and lighter than their big brother, with their semi-in-ear format, they are comfortable and can be worn for hours. However, we can regret that their case is not as well finished.
In terms of autonomy, the American manufacturer announces a duration of six hours per charge, whether in transparency mode or with active noise reduction. During our test, they lasted exactly 6h51 with the volume at 70%, the ANC set to maximum and the AAC codec, the promise is therefore largely kept. The case provides three additional charges, giving a total battery life of 24 hours. In terms of recharging, 20 minutes is enough to recover two hours of listening time while the case refills in two hours (one hour during our test).
One of the best noise reductions on the market
With its QuietComfort Earbuds II, Bose prides itself on offering the best active noise reduction on the market, headphones and earphones combined. This ANC can go down to -40 dB in the bass frequencies and up to -27 dB in the mids which are much more complex to attenuate. The intensity of the reduction is spread over 11 levels with level 1 being the most transparent. In practice, the QC Earbuds II perform as well as the AirPods Pro 2, except that the latter offer better reduction in high frequencies.
Finally, in terms of audio performance, the QC Earbuds II rely on the same transducers as the first generation without the American manufacturer providing any more details regarding their characteristics. As for Bluetooth, they are only compatible with SBC and AAC codecs. As usual with Bose products, we have a nice emphasis on bass and mids, the QC Earbuds II offer a rich and deep sound with a nice emphasis on voices which are finely detailed. The treble is slightly behind but an equalizer is available on the Bose app to correct this.
