(Keystone-ATS) The Aargau flavor and perfume giant DSM-Firmenich has finalized the sale to the French fermentation specialist Lesaffre of its activities in the field of yeast extracts, until now integrated within the Taste, Texture and Health unit.

The transaction, for an amount kept confidential, was part of a divestment program following the merger last year between the Geneva-based Firmenich and the Dutch DSM. As part of this transfer of ownership, 46 DSM-Firmenich employees come under the Lesaffre banner.

The contract, announced last June, also provides for a technological partnership for the development of new products,

The DSM-Firmenich yeast extract production site in Delft, north of Rotterdam, must continue to supply Lesaffre until the end of 2025, before being dismantled. The French group had agreed to ensure continuous supply both to the Flavors unit of DSM-Firmenich and to current customers at the Delft site.
