The company Engie of Wallis and Futuna has announced a general power cut in Wallis from the weekend of May 4-5, 2024.

An operation to renew network control equipment, thermal energy production and renewable energy.

It’s a whole system that needs to be updated to take into account the production of green energy.

In fact, the three solar farms on the island were commissioned in March 2023.

Today 15% of energy comes from these solar farms. Energy reinjected directly into the EEWF electricity network. This can power around a hundred homes.

Solar energy is converted and injected directly into the AC grid. So there is no real risk for electricity. We put the three solar farms into service in 2023 and let’s say that it allowed us to save the use of a group and it also saved us diesel.
