VIDEO – European first in : a hydrogen generator makes this house self-sufficient in electricity
Descriptive text here

Hydrogen is slowly arriving in French homes.

In (Finistère), a manufacturer is testing it.

Good for the planet, hydrogen also allows for enormous savings.

When Frédéric turns on the television or starts his kettle, the electricity used does not come from the same Source as for his neighbors in the neighborhood. It is generated by a machine that produces hydrogen. This gas, a Source of electricity, comes from the decomposition of water molecules. Frédéric lives in the only individual house in Europe equipped with a generator, which he shows us in the TF1 8 p.m. report at the top of this article.

Sun and water

The Brestois agreed to test the machine for a house construction company. In exchange, he took nothing out of his pocket for the installation, which itself is activated using solar energy. The machine uses photovoltaic electricity, water, and with a simple electrolyzer, we generate hydrogen which will power the pipe. The gas stored outside allows the house to be supplied with electricity all year round.

This little revolution is supposed to cover almost 90% of the needs of a household of four people, and ultimately, savings. Frédéric has already made his calculations. Before thinking about savings, he still had to convince his family who had some preconceptions about hydrogen. But this innovation has a cost, the price of autonomy is between 25,000 and 30,000 euros. The first hydrogen houses should be widely available within five years, time to refine a few details, the noise of the machine and its still imposing size.
