Neighborhood rivalry left one dead on Tuesday in Essonne. It was a 20-year-old man killed with a knife in Athis-Mons. Two young men have been charged, the Evry prosecutor said on Sunday, when contacted by AFP.
One of the two accused, aged 18 according to the prosecutor, was charged with murder, violence without total incapacity for work in a group and participation in a group with a view to committing violence or damage. He is suspected of having inflicted the fatal stab wound.
Placed in pre-trial detention
He was detained “provisionally” pending a hearing on Tuesday regarding his placement in pre-trial detention, the public prosecutor’s office added.
A second young adult, aged 19, was charged with group violence with a weapon and is a repeat offender, the source continued. He was placed in provisional detention. The third person arrested, also aged 18, was placed under the status of assisted witness.
