RC Mercato: the incendiary press release from Valladolid against City and Juma Bah

Close to joining Manchester City then RC on loan, Juma Bah angered Real Valladolid, who published a scathing press release.

After the departure of Abdukodir Khusanov from RC Lens to Manchester City, the Artesian club could well welcome a player who will go the other way, in the person of Juma Bah. The central defender of Real Valladolid is about to sign with the Citizens, to be immediately loaned to Racing.

According to Foot Mercato, the 18-year-old player's medical examination should even take place this Thursday. But this movement does not please the La Liga resident at all, who published an incendiary press release towards Man City, but also Juma Bah, who is pushing to leave.

The full press release from Real Valladolid

“Abdulai Juma Bah and his agent informed Real Valladolid yesterday afternoon of their intention to unilaterally terminate the contract that binds them to the club. Earlier in the day, Manchester City sent a press release asking Real Valladolid to open negotiations for a possible permanent transfer of the player. Today, the Sierra Leonean international decided not to show up for morning training.

Faced with this situation, the club holds the player responsible for the breach of his contractual commitments and has asked its legal department to take disciplinary action.

Real Valladolid believes that behind the player's decision is Manchester City, belonging to the City Group, who would have advised him to act in this way. This situation puts the club in a delicate position, especially since they had recently refused higher economic offers for the player. In addition, Juma Bah, still under protected young player status, had refused in recent days to sign his license in a higher category team of the club, which would have led to an automatic increase in his release clause.

Arriving last summer on loan from AIK Freetown, Juma Bah was under contract with Real Valladolid until June 30 of this season. The Spanish club exercised its purchase option on January 1 to definitively secure the rights of the central defender under a longer-term contract and with better conditions.

The player's attitude, supposedly encouraged and supported by Manchester City and his agent, caused great disappointment and indignation within Real Valladolid, who had offered him a valuable opportunity for his career.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation has confirmed that the player has deposited the necessary amount for the unilateral termination of his contract. Real Valladolid announces that it reserves the right to take all legal and sporting actions necessary to defend its interests.”
