“Abdulai Juma Bah and his agent informed Real Valladolid yesterday afternoon of their intention to unilaterally terminate the contract that binds them to the club. Earlier in the day, Manchester City sent a press release asking Real Valladolid to open negotiations for a possible permanent transfer of the player. Today, the Sierra Leonean international decided not to show up for morning training.
Faced with this situation, the club holds the player responsible for the breach of his contractual commitments and has asked its legal department to take disciplinary action.
Real Valladolid believes that behind the player's decision is Manchester City, belonging to the City Football Group, who would have advised him to act in this way. This situation puts the club in a delicate position, especially since they had recently refused higher economic offers for the player. In addition, Juma Bah, still under protected young player status, had refused in recent days to sign his license in a higher category team of the club, which would have led to an automatic increase in his release clause.
-Arriving last summer on loan from AIK Freetown, Juma Bah was under contract with Real Valladolid until June 30 of this season.
