THE second-hand book lovers are always on the lookout for this annual meeting : the Chantereyne Lions Club, a women’s service club, organizes the weekend of January 25 and 26, 2025 on big sale of books, including all the benefits will be used for give children a vacationof the Manche Social Children’s Home (MECS).

At very attractive prices, visitors will find nearly 9,700 books of all genres: recent and classic novels, detectives and biographies, political essays and current investigations, history and tourism, comics, children’s books and science fiction, DVDs, 33 and 45 rpm vinyl records…

Still possible to drop off on Thursday 23 and Friday 24

The works offered for sale come from donations from individualscollected throughout the year and stored for this purpose in a garage Octeville but also some public libraries keen to make some space on their shelves.

Isabelle Géhu, responsibleof this operation for the Lions Club, reminds that it is still possible to drop off books at the party room on Thursday January 23 and Friday January 24, or by calling 06 62 89 13 63. volunteers will only receive books in good condition and will not take school textbooksin encyclopedias .

Anne de Chargères, presidentof the service club for the year 2024-2025, specifies that a major cleaning was done in the stock to eliminate objectively expired works and books in multiple copies or offered for sale during several unpackings.
