Tear : a cardiac theater
To paraphrase Aragon: “What sobs are needed for a wedding dress”. Tear (from the Latin “tears”), Caroline Guiela Nguyen’s latest creation, tells the story of making a princess dress. On the stage are the lacemakers of Alençon, a Parisian haute couture studio as well as an embroidery workshop in Mumbai, and languages intertwine, French, English, Tamil, sign language. Everyone works in secrecy, a theme dear to the author. Combining private and professional life, she takes us into a thrilling choral story, as socially engaged as it celebrates the know-how of artisans. A total success, a heart theater!

Surname or make a name for yourself
What to write after the shock wave of Consent, first book by Vanessa Springora? The author responds with what we call a prequel. It goes back to the sources, to the origin of this name “Springora”, unique in the world and forged from scratch. He conceals a family secret, is the source of intergenerational dysfunction, of repeated influence… Was his grandfather a hero as the family legend has it or a Nazi as suggested by photos found the day after the death of his father? Vanessa Springora leads the investigation, where intimacy and history intertwine, love and geography merge. Exciting.

Ernesto Neto at Le Bon Marché
Every year for a decade, the Bon Marché Rive Gauche has been transformed into a museum space during the months of January and February. After Ai WeiWei, Joana Vasconcelos, Prune Nourry and Daniel Buren, here is the 10th guest: Ernesto Neto. The only constraint for the artist: the color white which refers to the month of White. In his workshop in Rio de Janeiro, Ernesto Neto created works, a reinterpretation of the myth of Adam and Eve which he reverses into Eve and Adam… The exhibition which responds to the name “The Serpent” unfolds under the glass roofs and on the second floor of the store. What if the bitten apple was the beginning of humanity?

Here are the Dragons : the latest creation by Ariane Mnouchkine
With Ariane Mnouchkine, theater is a party. And it is, each time, a renewed pleasure to go to the Cartoucherie de Vincennes, in its Théâtre du Soleil, where a huge canteen (the menus harmonize with the theme of the show, borscht and grilled barley tea) precedes the stage. This time, it’s a Russian show, Here are the dragons, first part devoted to the Russian Revolution of 1917 of a fresco in three parts (1924-1945 and 1945-2022). A challenge (to stage the two totalitarianisms of the 20th century) in the light of his theatrical genius. 33 actors of multiple nationalities play, wearing masks, changing the decor with mastery. A demanding and popular theater, visible to all. Better: of public utility!
