Montcuq-en-Quercy-Blanc. Bookstore events Livres & Co

The Montcuq Livres & Co bookstore offers several events during the month of January. From January 14 to March 9, Nathalie Geoffray de Calbiac, whose ceramics we discovered in Atelier Hector in December, this time presents her photos as part of the exhibition “C’era una volta”. Through this project made up of personal and historical archives on Italian migrations of the 20th century, the photographer-visual artist speaks of exile and the quest for her origins, she who is the daughter of Italian immigrants from Veneto. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Saturday January 18, at 6:30 p.m. It will be followed, at 8 p.m., by a jam-session evening with a moment of musical sharing and conviviality, in Spanish inn style.

Friday January 24, at 8 p.m., there will be the traditional naked reading by Elizabeth Masse on a text of her choice. Participation: €15. Spanish inn.

Friday January 31, the bookstores Livres Books & Co and Le livre en Fête de Figeac invite their readers to the Théâtre de l’Usine, in Saint-Céré, at 8:30 p.m., to attend the show “There is no Ajar : monologue against identity”. This one on stage by Johanna Nizard, brilliant, funny and committed, revisits the work of Romain Gary, based on the eponymous book by Delphine Horvilleur. Johanna Nizard metamorphoses in an impressive range of registers and a masterful interpretation, and invites us to laugh at dogma and our certainties. For this premiere, the Théâtre de l’Usine reserves around ten places for each of the two partner bookstores. Departure from Montcuq by carpooling. Reduced price. Dinner after the show, at the theater refreshment bar.
