A Velauxian creates the book “Hearts of Darkness” for the benefit of the Autistes sans frontières association

The work Hearts of Darkness brings together 27 short stories collected in a single book. The latter reflects throughout its 384 pages the diversity of so many authors, a collective who never ceases to explore the darkest corners of the imagination. Because yes, this work written by 27 brains is available until December 24 for a good cause!

All profits will be donated to the Autistes sans frontières association, some authors are directly confronted with this among their loved ones.

“Common desire”

The trio of authors at the head of this initiative is made up of Antony Gallego, 45 years old, client manager whose first novel was published in 2013, Alain Leclerc, born in Quebec, and professor in several artistic fields such as cinema, literature or drawing and Velauxien, Julien Léon, aged 46 who is an air traffic controller at Marseille-Provence airport who has published novels from 2022.

Julien Léon details his approach: “The idea came from a common desire to do something for an association and as all three of us are authors, we decided to create this collective with initially 15 authors maximum. And then, finally, given the enthusiasm that quickly arose, there are finally 27 of us, from all walks of life. We complement each other well. We contacted authors we knew via the networks. Alain quickly managed to contact a certain number of people from across the French-speaking world, and even from Japan..”*

“Eclectic feathers”

The Aixois by birth specifies that “almost“all the authors contacted accepted and that the collection offers”a wide range of eclectic feathers“. He continues: “Most have solid experience. Some have written bestsellers. Efsy Washington, the pseudonym of the anonymous and enigmatic protégé of Franck Thilliez, Vincent Hauuy whose The red Tricycle, sold more than 100,000 copies and won the 2017 VSD prize and the Michel Bussi prize for best thriller. Cyril Carrère, who has just won the Ormesson Polar Prize today, and Sébastien Didier, whose I don’t forget you was sold 30,000 copies.”

Authors who have not yet published are also part of the adventure. The specifications and the common point of the news are the darkness of the human soul, “but no gratuitous violence“.
