collectible reference watchmaking books

Beautiful books are a Christmas tradition. There is something for all tastes and on all themes.

And, of course, in this area, watchmaking is not left out, especially at Watchfid which offers works written by Anthony Marquié and Grégoire Rossier and published by Watchprint.

Their bestseller to date? Of course, it is the famous Moonwatch Only which was published in 2014 and which opened a new voice in the world of watch books where, let us remember, it is often the brands themselves which sponsor the work and which therefore have a right to review the content…

In this case with Moonwatch Only, this was not the case! For the writing of this veritable bible on Omega’s famous Speedmaster, Anthony Marquié and Grégoire Rossier carried out a fine sleuth’s work over many months!

In fact, now, the community of watch collectors has recognized for ten years their rigorous methodology resulting from their scientific training, which allows them to perfectly describe and analyze the evolution of watch models over time.

Since the success of Moonwatch Only, the authors have also created the consulting company Watchfid and launched several other works grouped around three distinct collections.

First of all, the ONLY collection includes exhaustive and technical guides dedicated to the evolution of a specific model, from its launch to the present day.

These works are intended to become absolute references for anyone wishing to study, purchase, or collect the models in question. Three books in catalog to date: Moonwatch Only, Flightmaster Only and Chronomaster Only.

The STORY collection is intended for a wider audience: these books (less expensive) are more narrative and also tell the history of the models, while explaining the main developments during their production. Two references: A Watch on the Moon and Navitimer.

Finally, the ICONS collection (including the two works on the Daytona) concerns iconic models and uses the research and analysis methods of the “ONLY” Collection; however, they are less technical and their format is simpler.

« Our goal is simple: to allow everyone to understand the quality of a collector’s watch in the simplest and most reliable way possible. » explains Anthony Marquié.

And Grégoire Rossier clarifies: “ the in-depth research we do for our books makes the Watchfid ecosystem totally unique ».
