Candé. The book sale made people happy

Two comics for €1, four children’s books for €1, three adult books for €1. These are very attractive and unbeatable prices to encourage people to buy books. The library volunteers turned into shopkeepers for a sale of books selected by the library on Saturday, September 7.

More than affordable prices

No commercial spirit on the part of the saleswomen, but rather pleasure in seeing these books on sale make other readers happy again. At this price, a few shopping bags quickly filled up and the library’s cash box filled up with a few euros but without overflowing.

We are obliged to sort through a bit to be able to welcome new ones. We, the volunteers, also have to promote reading, and the sale allows us to do this. The kitty will help to cover some unforeseen expenses. The next books will arrive at the end of September for a budget of €350, financed by the Syndicat intercommunal du candéen (SIC). The literary books, a little later, in October reports Martine Delaunay, head of the Candé library.

Library opening hours: Mondays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Next Baby Book on September 24 and one Tuesday per month.
