Fujifilm test (Book album on satin photo paper): easy design and on XS paper

Supplier of printing solutions and consumables for photo laboratories, Fujifilm has also had its own online platform, Myfujifilm, since 2011, through which it is possible to order photo prints of different sizes, prints on rigid supports, calendars, postcards, announcements, puzzles, mugs and other magnets, not forgetting photo .

The offer presented in the form of themed books is a little complex to understand, although it can be summarized very simply. Fujifilm actually offers books printed on digital presses with 200 g/m² paper, the finish of which can be glossy or matte, and books on photo paper. They are made with Crystal Archive Album XS paper, a traditional support based on RC and chemical development which has a thin thickness of 135 μm and is also available in two glossy or satin finishes.

All books are available with a customizable soft or hard cover, those on printed paper can also receive a linen cover in different colors. Many formats are available, unfortunately poorly indicated on the laboratory's website which would really benefit from clarifying its offer with, for example, a summary table of the available options.

For our test, we chose to make an album on satin photo paper with a hard cover measuring 27 x 20 cm. The cost for 24 pages is €49.90. Each batch of four additional pages is charged €5 and the maximum number is 100 pages.

The equivalent at WhiteWall corresponds to the Exhibition A4 Landscape book measuring 27 x 20.5 cm on Fuji Crystal Archive Luster paper, sold at €52.95 for 28 pages, with each set of four additional pages also being charged €5. Cewe, for its part, offers the A4 Panorama photo book on satin paper at €35.95 for 26 pages and €3.70 per set of four additional pages.
