Last Carte Blanche of the year 2024, the CEEI-THALIM Seminar will welcome Christian Laucou for an intervention entitled:

“Reinventing the book: the typographic games of an artisan-publisher”

In discussion with Hélène Campaignolle (UMR THALIM, CNRS/ SORBONNE NOUVELLE/ ENS) and Catherine Chauvel (binder).

Former professor at the Estienne school, founder in 2000 of the Ouvroir de Typographie Potentielle (OuTypoPo), editor-typographer, but also author, engraver-illustrator, complete book man, etc., Christian Laucou will talk about the genesis of some chosen from the 300 books that he published under the labels of Éditions du Fourneau then Fornax.

Bio-bibliography of the speaker : Born in 1951 in Paris sur Seine, he shared his activities around books between his hometown and a small village in the south of the until the summer of 2024 when he definitively abandoned the capital. Passionate about all techniques related to printing, he participated in the writing of several works on the subject.
