The socio-cultural café Ô'Bobar, based in the Galaxie village space, is now well known in the neighborhood, and even beyond. It is here that the microlibrary has just opened. “The premiere of Nîmes, notes Laetitia Lemare, the coordinating animator. We responded to the concept of a library without borders, and we were winners of the promising microlibrary project.”
For all ages
The latter has only been open to the public for a few days, and the 1,600 works which occupy the shelves will soon quickly circulate through the hands of readers. And there is something for all ages. From now on, anyone can borrow Books or consult them on site. The library is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 8:45 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 8:45 a.m. to noon, and one weekend per month from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. “The idea is to be able to revitalize La Cigale, and to adapt this cultural space to the neighborhood and also to people with disabilities.”
In this place, already largely open to the outside world, and where there is no shortage of entertainment, we will find some new ones: “Every month, we will organize Croq stories, right here or in the La Cigale school, tell Laetitia Lemare. EIn partnership with the Read Together association, there will be story readings one Wednesday per month, as well as various other cultural, festive and fun activities.” Remember that in this socio-cultural café, alongside the library “papier” which has just opened, a multimedia space is already accessible with tablets, computers, secure internet access and a “bulls audio” where you can isolate yourself to listen to music or audio stories. “During the inauguration of the microlibrary, we recorded a good number of memberships,” the host likes to see. A very friendly space, Ô'Bobar is also a remarkable tool that puts culture within everyone's reach, by creating social bonds.
