Bertrand Santini, winner of the first edition of the Youth Passion Prize

The first edition of the Passion jeunesse literary prize rewarded Bertrand Santini pour The children's writer who hated children (PKJ). The author, already known for the successful series Gurty's diary (Sarbacane), stood out among four other works including The Million of Luc Blanvillain (The Leisure School), My big brother, Lionel Messi and me of Brigitte Smadja (The Leisure School) and The surprise dessert of Jean-Philippe Arrou-Vignod (Gallimard youth).

For this first edition, the jury was made up of seven children, girls and boys aged 9 to 12, all passionate about reading. They had the opportunity to discuss the competing works, exchange their points of view and vote for their favorite book during a lunch.

This initiative supported by Julie Marangowner of the Paristory Hotels, is in line with the Passion literary prize won by Camille de Peretti pour The unknown woman in the portrait (Calmann-Lévy) last June. It aims to encourage reading among young people by offering them the opportunity to express their literary opinions.

The awards ceremony takes place this Monday, November 25 at the Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal in the first arrondissement of . The winner will be rewarded with five nights in a Paristory group hotel and an art object created by the ceramist Laëtitia Rouget.
