Since 2019, the Lyon French Tech start-up Bookinou has allowed children aged 2 to 7 to discover reading thanks to an educational reader. This screenless reader offers audio playback synchronized with the handling of Books. The child then follows the audio story recorded by a loved one or by professional storytellers. Supported by the Ministry of National Education, Bookinou now equips more than 15% of schools.
In October 2024, the team turned a new page by imagining a repackaged version. The audio players are then collected, repaired and refurbished in the repair workshop in Orléans. They can thus amaze children again while supporting them in learning to read. Bookinou 2e Vie divides the environmental impact by three and relies on a reduced price. For Vincent Gunther, the co-founder, this new version ensures accessibility for all children.
